I wish to learn and share some of the SEO techniques that I know and I wish to learn more here.
To start with :
1) Choose a perfect Domain name. The name should reflect your Brand/product/personality.
2) At-least one main keyword of your product should be in your Domain name.
3) If you can not find a non-dash domain name, You can go for a single-dash domain name. keyword1-keyword2.com OR brand-keyword1.com is a Good idea. For example book-reader.com or nicky-books.com is a Good idea if your site is going to talk something about reading and Books, reading and stuff like that.
4) Create keyword relevant sub-domains where every it is required.
example : If book-reader.com is your domain , technical.book-reader.com, computer.book-reader.com, finance.book-reader.com, music.book-reader.com are relevant sub-domains. also the content of each sub-domain should match the exact title of the sub domain.
5) create unique content as and when you can. You can quote some articles from other sites/blogs, But you write you thoughts about those pages that you quote. This way you will be writing something relevant and unique.
6) take care of meta keywords. Do not try 100s of meta keywords in a single page. That will be of no use, unless the content is not relevant.
7) Submit your sites to directories like
http://internetdir.in , dmoz, business.com. This will maximize your chance of quick submissions to search engines.
8) when ever you use images, use relevant Alt-text ; Because that is what search engines will,like.
9) Be active in communities like this, Give some honest comments in real good Blogs who allow do-follow links, but do not attempt to SPAM them.
10) create a good mailing list with some unique concept behind it. Create a archive page of your mailing list.
11) Be active in social media, Be friendly and gentle with a good taste of like minded people. If you are not sociable enough chances of people reading your site will be less.
12) Link all your contents inter-linked with each other.
